May the 4th Be With You! Celebrating Star Wars Day at The 501
In a couple of weeks you may find yourself hearing the greeting, “May the fourth be with you,” and you will know that it’s Star Wars Day, because what else? May 4th, Star Wars Day was originally known as Luke Skywalker day, but the punny phrase was too good to resist, and Star Wars Day was born. Lest it be forgotten, don’t forget that bit about the Revenge of the Sith for May Sith just a few days later. Then at the end of the month head to your favorite theater to see Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Solo, opening in Baltimore, MD area theaters on May 25th, focuses on Han Solo, the lovable opportunist. Cinemablend provides a synopsis of the upcoming film: “Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes.”
While you are biding your time waiting for the movie to open, host a Star Wars Day party at your apartment complete with Star Wars themed food and a lightsaber tournament. A month-long movie marathon may be more your style. Or embrace the festivity and just do both!
There are several ways to watch the Star Wars movies: You can watch them in their release order, in chronological order, or simply in the order of how you prefer to, highlighting your favorites if you want. If you’re not sure which movie came when, this article about the Star Wars movies can help you out.
We encourage members of our apartment community at The 501 to celebrate Star Wars Day next month! Please feel free to share any epic tales you may have of your Star Wars Day celebration in the comments. Thanks for reading The 501 Blog.
